Taqueria El Chaparrito first began as a dream. Owner Lourdes Casilla grew up in Michoacán, Mexico. She later moved to California and then to Michigan to start a new chapter of her life. Once in Lansing, Lourdes noticed a lack of authentic Mexican food in the area. She wanted to share with the community her love for delicious meals that she grew up eating in Mexico, and decided to open Taqueria El Chaparrito. Food that made her happy as a child now is loved by many in the Lansing area.
